LyX ⇒ Use Latex .tex template with Lyx
Use Latex .tex template with Lyx
a complete newbie here who approached Lyx as the editor to write his book so please excuse me if I'm asking something silly but all of my searches on google and here did not yield many results.
As per subject I would like to use a Latex "pure" (not sure how should I define it) template with Lyx, of course there is no layout file and I'm a bit lost.
I've tried to follow instructions in the Help > Customization guide but while all seems to go through smoothly (read not error messages) I cannot find the document class that I'd like to use which for the records is Legrand Orange Book http://www.latextemplates.com/template/ ... range-book
For what I could understand it should be possible to import .tex files to use as document class but maybe I'm completely wrong and what I'm asking is not possible.
Thanks in advance for any pointer/help.

Use Latex .tex template with Lyx
LyX is, opossed to the thinking of many, not a tool for newbies. You should be familiar with the basics of LaTeX first. I recommend to read LaTeX for complete novices.
You have to include the preamble of your document within the LyX preamble in your document settings.
But i am not a LyX user, all the buttons are distracting me.

Re: Use Latex .tex template with Lyx
@Johannes thanks for link I am reading the book now, yes I've realized LyX is not exactly for newbies and as a matter of fact had to read quite a bit to customize things to "liking" but well knowledge is never wasted.
@Scott I will try to ask in the list thanks, googling I've found this section hence ended up here

Thanks again Obs.
