Hi all,
I have been using TexWorks for a number of years to produce my CV, and have never had a problem creating a PDF from the LaTex file. Today, however, when I went to convert the TexWorks to pdflatex, the following message came up:
The program "pdflatex" was not found.
Searched in directories:
/usr/bin
/bin
/usr/sbin
/sbin
/usr/local/bin
Check configuration of the pdfLaTeX tool and path settings in the Preferences dialog.
I have no idea what this means, and am a little panicked as I need to update my CV for a job posting asap! Does anyone know how I might go about resolving this? Assume I know little to nothing about computers or LaTex beyond being able to create a document (and even that someone helped me write the template for). Advice and tips greatly appreciated!

The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
