Python prevents LyX from running properly?

Post by kwds »

Hi all,

I tried to install LyX (2.1.4) today. Everything went OK, but LyX didn't run once the installation was complete. It was only after I killed Python in Windows Task Manager that LyX would open. I'm using Windows 10, BTW.

Does any of you know what is going wrong here? Why does Python prevent Lyx from opening its window? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening every time I want to run LyX?

Thanks!

I see this from time to time. Strangely I only see it reported for Windows. I've never seen this myself on Ubuntu. It might have to do with the version of Python that is default on Windows, but not sure.
