Cannot Open DDE Link

Post by RensR »

Dear Latex users, I have a problem and have no clue how to fix this.
I use WinEdt 8.2 with MikTex, very basic, but it works fine for me normally. The problem is when I compile my documents. It all works, but every single time, I get a warning that says:
Cannot Open DDE Link to:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroRD32.exe"
Service: AcroviewR99999
Topic: Control

DDEOPEN("%$('PDF-View')","%$('Acro-DDE_Service');",...

I don't know how to fix this. The weird thing is that not only my files are compiled as they should, but also the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is actually started properly even with this message. The problem is that the warning is just very annoying and I don't know if this will give problems at some point.

Cannot Open DDE Link

Have a look here: Cannot open DDE link: Acroview Error

That thread with the same error got the solution to dowload and replace the files Acrobat OpenDoc-Find.edt and Acrobat OpenDoc.edt, four WinEdt.

I replaced Acrobat OpenDoc-Find.edt with the version that was listed there. However, I did not find Acrobat OpenDoc.edt in my installation at all. Where do I have to put the .edt file? I just put it in the same folder called Macros, but that does not seem to solve the problem, the same warning arises when I compile any tex file.
