typeset by texmaker without figs showing

Post by king11for »

Hi all,
Im new to LATEX in windows. Just install Miktex and texmaker (as editor) in my PC.
I got a problem: one same file is correctly typeset with Texworks; but without the figures showing by typesetting with Texmaker. I mean it's blank for the whole position where figure should appear.

Has anyone meet this problem before?
Thx a lot.

Hi,

you compared with a texworks run. Was this compilation on the same machine with the same files?

Hi J, yes. actually it's just 1 file typeset by 2 editors.

As you said, two editors. They are just easing the process of, well, text editing. Both should send the file to latex (the program/format).

Try adding \listfiles above the very first line of a minimal document (using almost no text, and just one figure). See below. You can compare the output by clicking on »open in writelatex« just above the code.

Code: Select all

\listfiles
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{mwe}
\usepackage{graphicx}
\begin{document}
Hello

\includegraphics{example-image-a}
\end{document}
If this gives different results, please post the log-files as attachments to your next post. If both give the same result, try hacking down your real document, till both look the same. You did just locate the cause.

Please remember to backup everything.

BTW: An alternative to Miktex is TeX Live

thx. I tried one file with texworks and texmaker and it's the same problem with previous one. The pdf file shows figure typeset with texworks and no figures with texmaker.

Are those the log files copied directly with your favourite text editor? If yes, they differ from another. But there is no apparent reason why. I'll think about it a bit.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

I can't think of any reason, why this should/could happen.

Can you test the example i posted above, once again with both editors? Does it work with latex/pdflatex (right now you are using xelatex)?

Can you compile from the command line?
