Text Formatting ⇒ Error messages upon orphans

I don't want to use \widowpenalty=10000, as it might result it some bad formatting that's easy to overlook; I'd rather find orphans and eliminate them in other ways. Is there a way to get error messages as for overfull hboxes for orphans?
