convert Revtex 4.1 document to for OSA journal format

Post by csgolden »

Hello,

I am a newcomer to Lyx and Latex, I use Lyx on a macbook. I currently have functional document classes for RevTex 4 and 4.1. I am using 4.0 version that came with my lyx/MacTex download and the 4.1 version provided here:

http://www.physics.utoronto.ca/~jrioux/ ... 4-1.layout

I don't think I care which version I ultimately use for my paper.

I simply want to make a document that matches the style of OSA journals, particularly Applied Optics.

The OSA provides instructions and claim the following:
"With little effort, a manuscript prepared in the REVTEX4 substyle for another society’s journal can be converted to OSA style.

\documentclass[osajnl,preprint,showpacs]{revtex4} %%REVTeX 4.0

or

\documentclass[12pt]{article} %%LaTeX 2e

\usepackage{osajnl}

The problem is I have no idea where to put these lines of code.

They provide you with 3 files that I think I actually need (http://www.opticsinfobase.org/ao/submit ... efault.cfm)
1) osajnl.rtx
2) osajnl.sty
2) osajnl.bst

Can someone please help me convert a lyx document made with my Revtex 4.0 or 4.1 document class to the format required by the OSA?

Thanks so much for your time and help.
