Change Type of Cursor

I'm looking for a way in TeXmaker 3.5 to change between the line cursor (which insert code into the line) and squarish cursor (that replaces code when typing).

What about just pressing the »Insert« key on a common keyboard layout? Pressing again will switch back. This is quite independent from the used editor.

Thanks, is this LaTeX specific? Because insert doesn't do the same thing in Word or Notepad
