Formatting citations, setting citation style

Post by Rodrigo »

Hello,

my name is Rodrigo and I'm from Argentina. So I apologize for my English :D

I've been using LyX for a while and I have a little inconvenience that ruins my papers! When I generate a bibliography and then quote in a book or paper document I get something like that: (author?) and then the number of the quote. I tried everything but I don´t know how erase "(author?)" to put myself the info or how to do to automatic recognition author and date by the program.

Thanks for your help!
Saludos!!!

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

As far as I could understand, this may solve your problem

Insert> citation
select Formatting, citation style to [#ID]

If this doesn't solve your problem, upload a screenshot of the pdf that you have generated
