How to tell the Compiler where my files are at?

Post by mmuuuuhh »

Hey,
I'm quite new to LaTex and Texnic so I have lots of Problems...
Right now I'm trying to compile a file.
Therefore i saved my document at "C:\Users\Name\Documents\LaTeX\test.tex"
But now I cant create a .pdf! If I hit F7, it says (translated from German to English) "File C:\Users\Name\Documents\LaTeX\LaTeX1.tex was not found."
Of course it was not found, because i named it test.tex instead of LaTeX1.tex!
So how do I tell the compiler which is the right file?

Thanks for help

F7 is for building a project. Try CTRL-F7 instead, which will build the current file.
