As I write \tableofcontents in body of document
It gives one error
something is wrong perhaps a missing \item

what is problem?
how to resolve it?

Please read the forum rules about providing a minimum working example. This could be a number of things, usually relating to a rogue linebreak, missing field, or missing }.
