I need to put a proof in supplementary material as a pdf. It references parts of the main document.
Is there some way to cross-reference another document? Or do I need to maintain the numbering manually? Or can I have them both in the same document and output to two .pdfs?
Thanks!

Hi,
for cross-referencing to external documents you could use the xr package. If you use hyperref, take xr-hyper instead.

Thanks; I will try that!

Hmm, I need to get an .aux file out of a .lyx document.
I've been used to just viewing the .pdf, which doesn't dump any files anywhere. Closest I've come is the export to .dvi command, which impolitely dumps various .eps files in the same directory as the .lyx document, in addition to a .dvi file.
