LyX ⇒ How to edit/customise a document class

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to LaTex and Lyx too. I am trying to customise the 'book' document class that comes with Lyx installation. What I want to achieve is to remove the chapter heading at the top of page and move the page number from the top right to the bottom centre. Is this possible? Any suggestion would be extremely appreciated!
