res.cls margin editing

Post by natpond »

Hello all,
I am quite new to LaTeX, so excuse my ignorance in this matter.

i am using the res.cls in tandem with the res9b.tex file located here http://rpi.edu/dept/arc/training/latex/resumes/

I think it is a beautiful format, however I am adamant that my resume fit on one page, and wanted to edit the margins, most specifically the top, bottom, and left margins (the right margin seems okay to me). i have looked through the .cls file and with my limited abilities, was unable to figure out how to extend the margins after trying to use the \newsectionwidth{dimen}, sectionwidth or resumewidth items that are mentioned int eh .cls file. perhaps i am simply using them wrong, placing them in the wrong place, or something else.

any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Nat
