There are two relevant resources for information about ps2eps with the CTAN entry and its homepage [1,2]. Perhaps you can figure out how to get things work with this information. Currently I'm also working on a solution. But at the moment I can't spend that much time as I want.
[1] CTAN: View package information - ps2eps
[2] ps2eps - Tool for generating Encapsulated Postscript Format (EPS,EPSF) files from one-page Postscript documents

Re: abc music package (again)
I have the "no shell escape" problem using the command line approach, AND the front-end approach (currently, TeXnicCenter). So, I don't think that TeXnic is getting in the way. I am also confused about the 'ps2eps vs ps2epsi' problem. I've read conflicting information--one article said that the latter can cause problems, and another, more analytical, article (Using Imported Graphics in LATEX and pdfLATEX, by Keith Reckdahl) outlines conditions under which it works well. It all seems to surround the 'bounding box' issue. I haven't figured out what to do with any of it yet, but I did want to mention these things.

This is a pretty late reply - but I've found a way to fix these problems, and since I couldn't have done so without the helpful information in these posts, I thought I should register an account and contribute my solution. I hope it works for anyone who is struggling with these problems. It have posted the solution here: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions ... 259#580259.
