Ummm no, I just love clear, solid fonts, rather than fonts like Times New Roman. What fonts do work for tipa?

The default serif font works (Computer Modern Sans), as does the Sans Serif font Linux Biolinum O. I don't know about others but I'm sure there are others. You'll have to test. You can get the default sans serif font if you don't load additional packages and set the default family to Sans Serif (in Document -> Settings -> Fonts).
