OK, sorry its not WYSIWYG but WYSIWYMG (what you see is what you might get) or WYSIWYM, as meho_r said before.

But I do not need to compile the latex code and wait for a response. Also I do not have to enter latex code in LyX but I can use keyboard shortcuts and navigate easily through equations.

In my job as physicist I have to write a lot of equations, and I really love LyX because I see what the equation will look like after compiling, and since it's so easy to enter a variable here or there without the need to search through a heap of letters for hours just to find the right spot.

Much better then to look through something like this:
\delta\mu_{r}=\frac{1}{4\pi\mu_{0}f_{r}^{2}CbN^{2}}\frac{d_{a}+d_{i}}{d_{a}-d_{i}}\sqrt{\frac{4d_{i}^{2}}{\left(d_{a}^{2}-d_{i}^{2}\right)^{2}}\delta d_{i}^{2}+\frac{4d_{a}^{2}}{\left(d_{a}^{2}-d_{i}^{2}\right)^{2}}\delta d_{a}^{2}+\frac{1}{b^{2}}\delta b^{2}+\frac{1}{C^{2}}\delta C^{2}+\frac{4}{f_{r}^{2}}\delta f_{r}^{2}}

That expression would be much more legible if superfluous braces are dropped. This is an undesired effect from LyX export. In the future packages like unicode-math for the XeTeX system will make the input of math expressions much easier [1]. Until then the math input in LaTeX is less comfortable, but nevertheless no big deal.

The one missing feature: online collaboration

Thanks for your replies anyways though.

Of course I know Google Wave and I know the PDF robots.
I know exactly what you were requesting - I thought perhaps you had an urgent need to do collaboration now. In which case a solution via Wave might have helped.

I agree with you I also would love to have LyX with collaborative editing built in.
Perhaps now that etherpad will be open sourced it can happen.

let's hope. :-)
