Yes, I posted suggestions above, that normally work.
Your code does something specific, that I cannot know without seeing it.
Especially in print, I would use the "hidelinks" option as above. No serious book I ever saw makes frames or borders around author names.

Well, the color is up to you ... or better, up to what books in your field of work do. If it's printed, I would use white for invisible borders and black for visible borders. On screen, red looks like errors, green and yellow are pretty much signal colors too, perhaps blue...
