I would recommend to update the pgf package, it's not the latest version.
Have a look here: Problem with PGF 2.00: \pgfdeclareimage and \pgfuseimage
That problem seems very similar.

I have an error saying
\undefined control sequence \pgfdeclareimage while compiling a beamer presentation in latex. can anyone help please? Thanks.

Which version of pgf are you using? Perhaps an update of pgf is needed.
