Excuse my "dumb ass" question - but what about the \renewcommand{\captionfont....} associated lines?

Could obviously try trial and error, but thought I would ask an expert

Ignore my last request - got it sorted - thankfully back up and running again - now just got to actually sort out the content of the thesis

Hi kaini,

I'm glad to hear that it works now and you can concentrate on the content again.
\captionfont and \captionlabelfont are obsolete and replaced by \captionsetup{font=... ,labelfont=...} (or font, labelfont as options).
More changed and was improved and new features are provided, have a look at the latest documentation to benefit from it.
