when i use

\renewcommand{\figurename}{Fig.}

it doesnt work when i apply

\usepackage[english]{babel}

so i use

Code: Select all

 \documentclass[english]{article}

but it seems that english option doesnt work.

could you help?

it will work this way:

\addto\captionsenglish{\renewcommand{\figurename}{Fig.}}
