Creat User manuals

Post by Dimicus »

Hello.
I am new to the board so i am sorry if my question have little context.

I want to create a user manual and/or a technical manual for hardware, example a dishwasher. I also want to be able to send this document to a publisher so they can create a papper manual for me.

Am i correct to belive that LaTeX is a good tool for this?
Do anyone know a good template and/or a guide to accomplish this?

Im a small inventor with little founds and i found this tool when searching the webb and thought it would suit me well but its overhealming to start from scratch so i want to know if its a good tool for me to learn.

Creat User manuals

Hi and welcome,
LaTeX can do the job. One of our members wrote a short introduction -> LaTeX for complete novices. This will give you a good starting point. A manual for a dishwasher (or whatever) is nothing more than a bit of text and some images, maybe a table.

It is a big mistake to search for some kind of template and start doing stuff. 99.9 percent of all templates are badly designed and lead to errors.
Learning the cruel basics is far better before doing real stuff. You had an instructor before getting a drivers license, working in a nuclear power plant requires more than »Press the red button when in doubt« as well.

Once you know the basics, you will be able to ask more precise question. I am sure we will find a solution.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
