Custom header

Post by johnny7 »

Hello,

I am working with Lyx and very pleased with it as I am able to do everything I want without knowing anything about Latex codes.
But now I encountered a problem I am not able to solve. I want to add a simple custom header to my document: just my name. I know there is a module and there is a package fancyhdr, but I don't have a clue how to define my custom header.
As said, I don't know how and where to use code - in the preamble, in the document itself? Can you explain to me step by step how to add a simple header (just a few words and the same for every page) to my document?

Thanks very much!

EDIT: Okay, I finally found out I can just use a paragraph environment and enter the text there. That was easy but why didn't the manual tell me so? It seems that's it.
