Module for Math

Post by davidciprut »

I use LYX with Hebrew and English together, and I added Theorem AMS to the module but whenever I try to preview it gives this error in the picture.

Does anyone know what it is and what I can do?

Thank you.

Almost impossible to say for a non-LyX user. Maybe even for a LyX-user.

It would be more helpful if you coult cut it down to a minimal working example or a minimal LyX example and also provide the log-file.

PS: Can you make your pic a bit smaller?

Firstly , thanks for responding. I am pretty new at this, and I don't understand much. I attached the files. I hope I understood right what I had to do. I attached the lyx file and a word file that has the entire log.

Hope I have attached the necessary and the right files. Thank you.

The log file tells me that you are using hebrew script. Some fonts are not available.
Please verify, that you are really using hebrew.

I don't even know if you can use hebrew with xelatex or lualatex without any special precautions. Let me check on that tomorrow, maybe i find a solution.

Johannes

PS: The log file is a simple text file. You can upload it using the file ending .log or rename it to .txt. A word file might be the worst place to put a TeX log file ;-)

EDIT: You did write that you are using hebrew in your first post. I overlooked that, sorry.

Hey thanks for replying!

Yeah I actually installed that. When I started writing with lyx in hebrew it wouldn't preview, so someone told me to install this, and I did , and it worked. Then I wasn't happy with the outcome of my writing, then my friend told me about this module, Theorem AMS and I added it. and since then it stopped working. Now the strange thing is when I deleted it (The module, Theorem AMS) it still didn't work. Now LYX won't preview any of my writings, not in Hebrew and not in English.

So I made 2 changes. I added modules. And I did the use keyboard map thing to be able to write easier math stuff.. (Because when I wrote math symbols I had to use Alt+Shift to change language and it was to tiring) Maybe these two may have affected it somehow..

Now I have changed everything that I have done back to normal and changed the language to English USA and it previews... Still doesn't preview Hebrew letters. Says it can't load it. But I have used it before...

And now I have noticed that when I change the language the Hebrew , it stops working, althoug I installed the culmus package... It's really hard to understand why suddenly it's not working...

When I am done with the exams I will reinstall Lyx and do everything step by step to see what actually causes the problem. Thanks for the help! I appreciate it.

As i told you i am for from being an expert.
Another great place of LaTeX knowledge is TeX.SX. You can ask there, give as much and detailed information as possible and please link to here (and vice versa).
Seems like all LyX users here are on holiday.

Good luck and best wishes.
