what is the use of LYX

it just like a text editor, such as notepad or wordpad.

I did not find out the use of it.

I don't know much about LyX but I do that it is quite unlike any text editor.

If you want to learn more about what LyX does and especially what it does differently to real text editors you should start with the information provided on the LyX homepage. A short quote:
LyX is an advanced open source document processor running on Linux/Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X.
