Extracting data from website

Post by Frank2013 »

Hello,

I would like to show the number of citations of an article in my latex document. After compilation of my latex file, this number should be generated automatically by inquiring web of science (http://apps.webofknowledge.com/WOS_Gene ... ed_tab=WOS).

How can I achieve this?

Thanks a lot.

Frank

Hi Frank,

You could use \write18 to call a shell script, batch file, etc.

Alternatively, the package bashful implements functionality to execute bash directly from inside a tex document.

Both options require the --shell-escape flag to be set while typesetting.
