Text Formatting ⇒ Color not recognized

My thesis file has started not working, it returns an error that the color "red" is not known. But after hours of debugging I haven't been able to find the error, I feel like I have tried everything so any help would be appreciated. I have attached a mostly minimum working example that shows the problem.

In file "dynamic_binary.tex" (line 14) this resolves the error and compiles it.

I like to have the \ms think so I can just add \ms whenever I need to remind my self later on that something is missing.
