Dummies guide to LaTeX packages in LyX

Post by WalidSaladin »

Okay so just as the name of the posts suggests, I don't have a cooking clue on where to store additional LaTeX packages. I'm still new to LyX. :)

For example, I download the nomencl package from CTAN for the MikTeX distribution. Where do I save the package? And how do I call the package in the document's preamble? Are there any other things that I should consider when loading packages?

Also, do you perhaps know if or where one can find a list of (default) packages that come with LyX 2.0.0?

Thank you for your help.

Why don't you just install packages by the MiKTeX Package Manager (MPM). That's its job.

+1

Also, don't forget to go to Tools > Reconfigure after installing a new package so that LyX learns that you installed a new package.
