Large doc / Multiple tables

Post by hatchet »

I am relatively newer to Lyx and working on a large report with multiple tables. I can't save the doc due to the amount of tables. A previous colleague fixed the issue with my desktop, now need the fix on a new laptop. (previous colleague not here)
I am not code savvy, so please don't be vague. :)

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

Hi hatchet,

welcome to the board!

We could try, but please don't be vague too. ;-)
You could tell us, which error message you got, and if you actually mean saving, or compiling. If it cannot save, your hard disk could be full or there's an operating system issue. If you cannot compile, there's probably an error in your code, LyX would tell you that.

Stefan (and anyone else),

What had happened previously and again here is the document doesn't save; the wheel keeps turning with no result. The hard-drive is fairly empty being a new laptop. Lenovo T420. So, no error message. I'm guessing there's more than forty tables and I'm not finished yet. I had emailed my old colleague, and his suggestion was to compare the MiKTeX package manager b/t the desktop and the laptop to see if there is a difference. So, that is where I'm headed next. Not being too computer savvy, it may take some patience.

Thanks
Hatchet

Hi Hatchet,

which version of LyX are you using? Perhaps update if it's not the latest one, the latest and recommended version is 2.0.4.
