Updating Font Map Files

Post by angulo »

I am using scrbook. I have downloaded two new map files: "urw.map" and "psfonts.map". I need to add them into the respective previous ones with the same names.

I know that I must employ 'updmap'. But I don't know the way to do it.

LaTeX compilation provides warnings regarding font shapes. And dvips doesn't produce output: 'unmr8r' or 'unmrs8r' missing. The file encloses the lines.

Code: Select all

\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage{babel}
\usepackage{slantsc}
\usepackage{nimbus}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}

Updating Font Map Files

Post by Stefan Kottwitz »

It depends on your operating system and your TeX distribution.

I usually call

Code: Select all

sudo updmap-sys
for system-wide updates, and

Code: Select all

updmap
for a per-user update, on Ubuntu Linux.
