LyX ⇒ how to add footnote within glosse inset (linguistics module)

Hi,

I'm writing a linguistics paper in Lyx 1.6.8 using the linguistics module. The glosse inset is of great help. However I have encountered a problem with it which I have been unable to solve.

I want to add a footnote after the first line in a glosse inset but Lyx will not allow me to do this (if I copy/paste the footnote into the glosse inset at the point that I want it to appear, Lyx is not able to render the document).

The best I can do, is add it after the glosse inset but then the footnote is not placed at the correct line. I have attached an example that hopefully will clarify what I mean.

Is it possible to get around this problem? Any help or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support!

Hi and welcome. It would help if you provide an example .lyx file which shows the issue. Put it in a ZIP archive and attach it to your next post.

Okay,

I have finally figured out how to do this!

The method is described in the EmbeddedObjects helpfile under 4.2. In the Glosse Inset I added \footnotemark{} and outside the gloss I added \footnotetext{TEXT}.

For people seeking a similar solution I have added the .lyx file as an attachment.
