Margins are shorter on one side than the other

Post by DMOC »

Hi everyone,

I am enjoying the use of TeXShop so far, but I can't figure out how to change my document settings so that the margins are even. When I preview documents and print them out, the margin on the left side is smaller/shorter than the one on the right side. I am using almost entirely default settings here as I have just used TeXShop for a short while. I used the "LaTeX template" to start my document, if that matters.

The behaviour you describe is quite normal (from the typographical point of view) and has nothing to do with your editor. The geometry package provides a remedy. Details in the package manual and via forum search.
