Hi, I am a new user of Latex. I successfully installed Miktex and Winedt. The problem I have is installing different packages that I will use to write up my dissertation. I will be very glad if I get help from people to keep me out of this problem. I use Windows. I tried the package manager but some packages are not in the list.

This is one answer! Can you be a little bit more specific? In principle you can write your dissertation with vanilla LaTeX.
