Hello all,

I am having some problems with the page numbers, which are mixing with chapter title
(For example.... Chapter.2. Electromagnetic field theory and applications21- page number is very close to the title).

Please help me in this matter.

Try with

\chapter[EM field theory and applicattions]{Electromagnetic field theory and applications}

The [] content will appear in the toc, the {} content will appear as the chapter title.

I want Electromagnetic field theory and applications in toc. But EM field theory and applications in \pagestyle{headings}. Is it possible. It would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

One possibility is the titlesec package with the toctitles option.
