LyX 2.4.3, linux - 'Date format' in the 'Output' setting is (suddenly) missing.

Post by vivisimo »

I use Endeavour OS, and up until 3 days ago I was still able to see the 'Date format' option in Tools > Preferences > Output.

And for that 3 days, I did not update or install anything. However, I notice that the option is gone.

I tried to open LyX with a new profile and even installed it on a different machine (with the same OS), but the result was the same.

Has this option been removed or there is any issue with my installation?

I can describe only what I can see on my Macbook with LyX2.4.3. There is no Date setting in the Preferences settings on my machine.
The handling of date fields had been changed since LyX2.4.
I use the Dialog "Field Settings". It can be reached via the menu by clicking "Insert>Field>Other...".
Not sure how it looks like with your OS.

OK. Thanks for confirmation.

I guess that the last time when I opened LyX, when the customized date format setting still had an effect, which seem to be inherited from the older configuration (?). And when I opened LyX, this setting was overwritten.
