By the way, it's very common to write operators, units, and similar terms upright, and only variables in italics. That's why there are even commands for this, such as \sin(\theta) and \cos(\alpha), and I would also write certain subscripts like \omega_{\mathrm{IF}}, otherwise you see this strange I F spacing and they would be treated like variables.
