Glossary

Post by Mikerada6 »

What is the easiest way to make a simple glossary of terms. I am fairly new to LaTex and am using TexNicCenter on Windows XP. Every thing i looked up on the internet required use of the command line prompt which i know nothing about. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Hi,

I recommend the glossaries package. It's not very simple but has many features for better customization. It is very well documented.
TeXnicCenter can be configured to produce the glossary automatically, have a look at for instance this topic.

i have looked at this package and the documentation seems quite confusing. Do you know of a sample tex file so i can see how to set up my paper?

can anyone explain to me what the documentation means by:
"You may need to explicitly load makeglossaries into Perl:"

this is my first experience with Perl or the command line prompt with Tex. I am running TexNicCenter on a Windows XP machine
