Greetings to all from an Icelandic Latex noob.

Hello all,

I have been aware of the existence of Latex for many years, but was kind of scared of it because it looked so much like programming, which was so much logic, which is, like, just math, which is not my thing. :P However, after having moderate success with both Python (programming!) and R (programming math!) during my work on my PhD I decided a couple of months ago to give it a go. And I just found myself completely hooked. I have now typeset my entire PhD dissertation (over 400 pages) with Latex and I'm looking forward to enjoying many more years of trying to tell it to do something that it probably was never meant to do :P

I enjoy creating and using things in different ways than they were meant to, including ignoring style guidelines and grammar rules (I'm a linguist, I'm allowed :P). I own an official Artistic Licence and way too much yarn.

looking forward to getting lost in here,
Þórhalla, aka Tex

Welcome to the forum.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Thank you.
I like your signature :P Being raised on the unforgiving command line and RTFM I appreciate it. :P
