General ⇒ Cannot Compile LaTeX on Texmaker

I'm pretty new to LaTex and especially to Texmaker, so I'm wondering why I always get the message "Could not start the command. pdflatex -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex" after I click the quick build run button.

Have you installed a TeX distribution? Texmaker is only an editor. It needs a TeX distribution to be able to compile a LaTeX document. So you have to install, e.g., either TeX Live or MiKTeX or MacTeX or another TeX distribution. If you've installed Texmaker before the TeX distribution you may also need to configure Texmaker to use the correct path to the TeX programs. This should not be needed, if the programs can be found via environment variable PATH.
