superscript alignment

Post by vmz19 »

hello,
is there any way to make the superscripts aligned (at the same height)?

Code: Select all

\begin{IEEEeqnarray}{C}
\dot{\boldsymbol{W}}^{-1} + \boldsymbol{W}^{-1}
\end{IEEEeqnarray}
thanks in advance
vit

superscript alignment

Post by Stefan Kottwitz »

Hi vit,

welcome to the forum!

You could use \vphantom that reserves invisible vertical space that the superscript will use.

Code: Select all

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\begin{document}
\[
    \dot{\boldsymbol{W}}\vphantom{W}^{-1} + \boldsymbol{W}^{-1}
\]
\end{document}
