superscript alignment

Postby vmz19 » Mon Apr 08, 2019 4:30 pm

hello,
is there any way to make the superscripts aligned (at the same height)?
  1. \begin{IEEEeqnarray}{C}
  2. \dot{\boldsymbol{W}}^{-1} + \boldsymbol{W}^{-1}
  3. \end{IEEEeqnarray}

thanks in advance
vit

Hi vit,

welcome to the forum!

You could use \vphantom that reserves invisible vertical space that the superscript will use.

  1. \documentclass{article}
  2. \usepackage{amsmath}
  3. \begin{document}
  4. \[
  5. \dot{\boldsymbol{W}}\vphantom{W}^{-1} + \boldsymbol{W}^{-1}
  6. \]
  7. \end{document}
