Numbered paragraphs and analytical TOC - how?

Post by RHvdG »

Apologies in advance if this question should belong in a different, more general sub-forum. I'm preparing a PhD thesis using LyX, using the classicthesis style, and I'd like to add two features. Please see the attached images. I'd like to start some (not all) paragraphs with an automatically assigned and auto-updating number, restarting the sequence each chapter (the first image), and generate a so-called analytical table of contents (on top of the ordinary one) containing short descriptions of the numbered sections (second image). I'm confident that this is doable, and in a way that does justice to the typographic beauty of the classicthesis style, but I haven't been able to figure out how. Your help is appreciated.

For the number, an enumerate would do, but getting the number in a table... Maybe a \ref, could be.
Did you find, or you're still looking for a solution ?
