MiKTeX and proTeXt ⇒ compile trouble

Hi Guys

I have some trouble when I compile my project. I really don't know what the real problem is. But the end of the output it says:

"Fatal format file error; I'm stymied"

When I build the files with my laptop it works fine, no errors at all.

I tried to do reinstall of both Miktex and Texniccenter. Now they are located at "c:\Latex\" ("c:\Latex\miktex2.5" and "c:\Latex\texniccenter")

Is it wrong to have them both located under "c:\Latex\"????

I have XP pro 64 bit

I really don't know what the real problem is. But the end of the output it says:

"Fatal format file error; I'm stymied"

This means that TeX can't find the format files or that they are corrupted. Sounds as if something went wrong during your MiKTeX installation or during your last update process.

Try to rebuild the format files (MiKTeX Options->General->Update Formats).

I've tried that earlier and now again.

When I build it says in the beginning: "Running pdftex..."

And on my laptop it says: "entering extended mode"

Any help there?

Which compiler is set for the pdflatex format (MiKTeX Options->Formats->pdflatex->Change)? Should be pdfetex, not pdftex.

It is pdfetex that is set as compiler.

Lets drop this. I've installed Miktex 2.6. And it works great
