A good pdf viewer for Windows?

Postby drowsy » Mon Jun 21, 2010 3:45 am

Hi,

are there any tex-friendly pdf viewers for Windows?
I need
1) Not locking the file for writing (Adobe viewer locks it, so that tex cannot overwrite the file).
2) Easy reloading (ideally automatically)
3) forward/inverse search.
4) Free /opensource.

Need one to use at work...

All the points on your list are mastered by SumatraPDF. Nevertheless it is quite minimalistic. It has become the default viewer for the new version of TeXnicCenter (TXC2 alpha 3) and is auto-detected during installation of TXC2 (even if Adobe Reader is already installed). Tutorials for making SumatraPDF work with TeXnicCenter and other editors are available [1,2]. Documents can be opened in Adobe Reader from within SumatraPDF.
