Announcement of PDFArticle (alpha)

Postby olivier » Mon May 09, 2011 11:01 am

Hello everyone,

I am developing a software, called PDFArticle, which aim is to provide a reading and working environment for mathematicians. It takes math articles in the PDF format, and displays the article together with the sequence of theorems or bibliography, as shown in the picture.

The SourceForge webpage is http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfarticle/

Some features are :

  • authors management
  • label management

PdfArticle is currently only available for Linux.

Best Regards.

Hi Olivier,

an english translation of the documentation would be great. At least requirements are important. When I started the Windows version on Windows 7, ist just crashed (problem event name: APPCRASH, exception code: c0000005, exception offset: 000cec73).

Hi Stefan,

you're entirely right I will make a documentation in English.

For the requirements I would say a 2 GHz dual processor together with 2 Go of ram.
I tried pdfarticle on Windows Seven (64-bit) and on Windows Vista (32-bit) and it worked in either case. I will transmit your report to the developer who did the compilation for Windows.

Best Regards !

Hi Stefan,
I am steven, the owner of http://blog.rubypdf.com , just got email from Olivier.
Could you tell me some details about your system, 32-bit or 64-bit, and the patch version? thanks in advance.
btw, it works well on my PC, 64-bit Windows 7.

P.S.
Would you mind try diffpdf on your PC, it has the similar components with pdfarticle(developed with QT and Poppler-qt), but for PDF documents compare, you can download it here,

Hi Steven,

it's Windows 7 Enterprise German, 64bit, SP1. I tried some simple PDFs, now one worked, the next let the program crash when opened.

Your diffpdf test files boson1.pdf and boson2pdf could be opened on my system. I attach two other simple test files which cause a crash on my system. Both files work with diffpdf 32bit static.
