Cursor turns into a busy circle!

Post by Jee »

I am using tex studio in ubuntu. When I run my tex file, the cursor turns into a busy circle. I have then no option but to close the program, which in turn, takes around 5 minutes. Please help to resolve the issue.

Welcome to the forum!

Do you get any error message? Can you please post the .log file here, as attachment?

Thanks Stefan.
Yes it displays following error message:
process started: pdflatex -synctex=1 - interaction = nonstopmode "filename".tex
With this message, I am not able to click anywhere on my texfile. When I click my chrome browser, it opens up a new tab directing me to "chrome help centre". When I try to close this tab, it appears again and again. I am frustrated.

Try another editor, such as TeXworks. Then you may see if the problem persists, then it's the code (then post it here) or the other editor doesn't show the issue, so it's a TeXstudio problem.
