remoce page number on title page

Postby otoomet » Thu Apr 19, 2007 9:07 am

How can I get rid of the page number on the title page? Consider the example:

  1. \documentclass{article}
  2.
  3. \pagestyle{empty}
  4. \title{Blah\pagestyle{empty}}
  5.
  6. \begin{document}
  7.
  8. \pagestyle{empty}
  9. \maketitle
  10. \pagestyle{empty}
  11. Blah-blah
  12. \pagestyle{empty}
  13.
  14. \end{document}

The page number just sits there, unless I remove '\maketitle'.
Thanks in advance,
Ott

Use the titlepage option for article. With this option an additional environment is provided.
  1. \documentclass[12pt,a4paper,titlepage]{article}
  2. \usepackage{blindtext}
  3.
  4. \begin{document}
  5. \begin{titlepage}
  6. ...
  7. \end{titlepage}
  8. \blinddocument
  9. \end{document}

You can put what ever you want into the titlepage environment. The data for \title, \author and \date can be omitted because these commands are not used any more.

This works for me:

  1. \documentclass{article}
  2.
  3. \title{My Title}
  4.
  5. \begin{document}
  6.
  7. \maketitle
  8.
  9. \thispagestyle{empty}
  10.
  11. Some stuff
  12.
  13. \end{document}
