### Boxes in tikzposter

I designed a poster with the style tikzsposter. My problems are the too big distances between title of the poster and a box and the position of the text in a box
I tried already the options given in tikzposter, but nothing has worked... Is it possible to change that distances?
\documentclass[12pt, a2paper, portrait, margin=0mm, innermargin=10mm,     titleinnersep=0mm,blockbodyinnersep=0mm,     blocktitleinnersep=0mm, blockverticalspace=5mm, colspace=5mm, subcolspace=5mm]{tikzposter} \usepackage[ngerman]{babel} %\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}   \usetitlestyle{Envelope}\usebackgroundstyle{Rays}\useblockstyle{Envelope}\usecolorstyle{Spain} \title{Titel}\author{Autor}  \institute{Institut}\begin{document}\maketitle\begin{columns}\column{0.33} \block{}{\small\section*{Aufgabenstellung}TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT    TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   }   \end{columns}  \end{document}

Welcome,
is there any reason for crossposting?
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Shouldn't it be

\block{Aufgabenstellung}{   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT }

Or do you need section titles within a block?

First: Sorry Johannes_B für crossposting, but I have to submit it urgently to my professor.
To you cgnieder
blocktitle for aufgabenstellung is not a good solution, because the box with the title become too big...I have to write many things on this poster...
I have done it now with \textbf{Aufgabenstellung}, as a normal text.
So the position of the text in the box (distance between text and margins of the box) and the distance from the postertitle to the box are left over. Is it possible to reduce this distances?

As long as the link is there for transparency, i don't mind crossposting. Right now, i would say let's keep all discussions on goLaTeX and summarize the result in here.

Of course, if a user drops in not being a member of goLaTeX (our german partner forum) feel free to make suggestions.

Well, you can redefine \section. tikzposter loads extarticle which uses the same definition for \section as article, i.e., it inserts a skip of 3.5ex before the section. YOu can redefine it to insert a 0-skip:

\makeatletter\renewcommand\section{%   \@startsection     {section}% name     {1}% level     {\z@}% indent     {0ex \@plus -1ex \@minus -.2ex}% beforeskip, changed!     {2.3ex \@plus.2ex}% afterskip     {\normalfont\Large\bfseries}% style}\makeatother

If you add this to your preamble you should get what you want.

I normally wouldn't recommend this but in this case you should be quite save – the usual document markup isn't really needed on a poster.

Caveat: try

\block{}{   \section*{Aufgabenstellung}   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT    \section*{Bla bla bla}   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT}

If you plan to use it this way then simply insert some negative space:

\block{}{   \vspace{-3.5ex}   \section*{Aufgabenstellung}   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT    \section*{Bla bla bla}   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT   TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT}

I wouldn't bother redefining \section, i would do \newcommand{\fakesection}[1]{\small\textbf{#1}\par\vspace{\baselineskip}} and use it instead.

Plus a \noindent maybe? BTW: in the example only the main text is small and not the heading.

(If time matters I (personally) wouldn't even do that but really add the negative space.)

Hm, both newcommands doesnt work... cgnieders version doesnt change anything and with johannes_bs version I get a bigger distance...
\vplus{-3.5ex} works, but the position of the text is no stranger than before...the distance from the end of the text to the box is bigger than from the beginning of the text to the end of the box. Not possible giving the text more space in the boxes?

Once again a reason to post in german. I have no idea what spaces you mean, it is a complete kauderwelsh.

Without a minimal working example, it is even harder to say anything useful.

@clemens The blocks use \parboxes internally, no parindent there.

\documentclass[12pt, a2paper, portrait, margin=0mm,innermargin=10mm, titleinnersep=0mm, blockbodyinnersep=0mm,blocktitleinnersep=0mm, blockverticalspace=5mm, colspace=5mm,subcolspace=5mm]{tikzposter} \usepackage[ngerman]{babel}   \usetitlestyle{Envelope}\usebackgroundstyle{Rays}\useblockstyle{Envelope}\usecolorstyle{Spain} \title{Titel}\author{Autor}\institute{Institut}  \usepackage{blindtext}\newcommand{\fakesection}[1]{\textbf{#1}\small\par}\begin{document}\maketitle\begin{columns}	\column{0.33} 	\block{}	{		\fakesection{Aufgabenstellung}		\blindtext		\the\parindent	}\end{columns}\end{document}

by the way, a few of the global options are invalid and do nothing. a
