fourier vs lmodern : 'plus' sign doesn't show in tikz

Postby thomasb » Thu May 09, 2019 12:48 pm

A minimal example where the '+' appears :

  1. \documentclass{article}
  2. \usepackage{tikz}
  3. \usepackage{lmodern}
  4. \usepackage{fourier}
  5. \begin{document}
  6. \begin{tikzpicture}
  7. \draw (0,0) node {$a+b$};
  8. \end{tikzpicture}
  9. \end{document}

Now, the '+' doesn't appear :

  1. \documentclass{article}
  2. \usepackage{tikz}
  3. \usepackage{fourier}
  4. \usepackage{lmodern}
  5. \begin{document}
  6. \begin{tikzpicture}
  7. \draw (0,0) node {$a+b$};
  8. \end{tikzpicture}
  9. \end{document}

What is the purpose of overwriting one font with another? Use only the one font you want to use.

As far as I understood, lmodern is for text and fourier is for equations
