figure question

Postby mikkelstuff » Wed Jan 16, 2019 4:12 am

I want to use {figure} and {subfigure} to position photos but TexShop does not recognize the commands. I have included a \usepackage{graphix}. What else do I need?

It's graphicx instead of graphix:

\usepackage{graphicx}

And you ned to load the subfigure package:

\usepackage{subfigure}

Thanks Stefan. I did mean "graphicx" but did not know about the "subfigure" package.

I tried adding the \usepackage{subfigure} but this still does not recognize the \begin{figure}.

Anyone have an example that works?

The figure environment is defined in the LaTeX kernel. You don't need any package to use it.

Please show us a minimal working example.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

That means, please show what you tried and doesn't work. And we would perfectly know what happens when you also post the .log file, as attachment here. The Attachments link is below the text edit field, when writing a post.
