Bold Greek Letters

Postby karthos » Sun May 20, 2018 6:20 pm

I am trying to make some words in greek bold, but no matter what I try fails. I use \usepackage[english,greek]{babel} because I need both greek and english in my paper and I also use \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc}. Both \bf and \textbf work fine for the english words, but when I try them on the greek words (after the \selectlanguage{greek} or \textgreek commands) they do not seem to work. The text is printed just the same as without these commands. What can I do?

Hi Karthos,

welcome to the forum!

There's no problem doing it in the way you described. This works and prints greek letters in bold:

Code: [Select all] [Expand/Collapse] [Download] ({untitled.tex})
  1. \documentclass{article}
  2. \usepackage[english,greek]{babel}
  3. \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc}
  4. \begin{document}
  5. \selectlanguage{english}
  6. Text
  7. \selectlanguage{greek}
  8. ελληνικά
  9. \textbf{ελληνικά}
  10. \end{document}
